Which IELTS Module Should You Choose?

There are two types of IELTS tests, and your purpose for taking the test determines which one is right for you:

• IELTS Academic:
  Ideal for students applying to higher education institutions abroad or professionals such as doctors, nurses, and engineers seeking registration in an English-speaking country.
• IELTS General Training:
  Suitable for those moving for work experience, non-academic training, or migration purposes to countries like Canada, Australia, or the UK.

Test Structure and Timing

IELTS assesses your English skills in four key areas:

• Listening – 30 minutes
• Reading – 60 minutes
• Writing – 60 minutes
• Speaking – 11–14 minutes

Scoring System

Each section is scored individually on a band scale from 1 (non-user) to 9 (expert user). The overall band score is the average of the four section scores and is reported in either whole (e.g., 6.0, 7.0) or half bands (e.g., 6.5, 7.5).
A Test Report Form (TRF) is issued to each candidate, and the results remain valid for two years.

• Computer-delivered or paper-based IELTS: NPR 25,500 – CBT /NPR 31,500 – PBT
